I would guess it takes three men. Unless it’s a sick ostrich.

It’s a TV show set in small town Canada, but it is really just small town life. It follows groups in the town, the main characters are the hicks - the farm boys (and no, they’re not coal rolling racists, they just work on a farm), the skids (druggies), the jocks (hockey players), and the Christians . It’s a surprisingly complex show given it’s very basic appearance and themes, they slowly build up the characters over the seasons so you don’t get tired of it. In Canada it’s on Crave TV, in the US it’s Hulu.

I was having a lot of trouble with the accents. Are we in Canada? Ireland? Wisconsin? Pennsylvania? That clears it up a lot. Actually, it reminds me a lot of Trailer Park Boys, but funnier. And that’s a show I’ve really tried hard to watch but just can’t seem to get into. This, I think I could watch. Sadly, I don’t have Hulu.

How much is Hulu? Crave is Netflix
level pricing so it’s not a big deal to get, you get a lot of other good TV shows through crave as well, and access to HBO*. It is however, Canada only.
*it’s extra over the base price.

It’s worth a month or two subscription to watch it. I watched the first two seasons with the subtitles on, but I can pretty much understand them all now.

I think about $10 a month. Worth it for a few shows if you don’t have cable.

Crave is included with my cable package (Telus) but if it wasn’t I’d still sign up, just for this show. Once you get through the first 3 episodes you get hooked. Also, they have the best soundtrack of any show I’ve watched before. Each group has their own theme/genre which they play for their scenes. The Music for the skids is fucking perfect.

It’s such a deeply strange style for a show, but it’s executed perfectly and without sacrificing the characters.

Sorry, I should have told you how it started. First, it was a Twitter account run by the main character called Letterkenny Problems, letterkenny being a fictional town similar to the one he grew up in. They tweeted “small town” problems.
Example: “Hockey player walks right up to ya says he wants to wheel your sister buddy you couldn’t wheel a fuckin’ tire down a hill.”.
After that, it was turned into a youtube series, with similar sayings put together and complied into short videos.
After that they made skits around a overall joke/theme.
Rest is history (they got a show).
